- Real life lessons in business through understanding bank accounts, credit history, and learning how to budget and save money as early as 4th grade, through hands on courses where students will budget for things they want. AUA believes that through doing this, students develop not only an appreciation and value of money, but more importantly they will also develop and understand how different careers and the ability to succeed in school can lead to a life of choice.
- Developing an appreciation for world cultures through learning about other cultures and how the African Diaspora has influenced other cultures.
- Foster ethical behavior, develop a moral compass, self-confidence, interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships, and humility through daily social emotional lessons and having students take personality tests that help them understand their gifts and strengths they have to offer.
- Expose students to different types of careers by introducing middle school students to different careers through mentorships and short term internships.
